Kerry was on the Imus show last week, and, according to the transcript, he clearly said -- or as clearly as he ever says anything -- that he would sign Form 180, authorizing the DOD to release his military records:
IMUS: You also told Tim [Russert] that you would sign this Form 180 releasing all of your military records. Have you done that? KERRY: Yes, we’re going do that. Absolutely, I will do that. Listen, I also think... IMUS: When are you going do it? KERRY: As soon as soon as I get clarified with the military. IMUS: Why don’t do you it today? KERRY: Because I have a stack of different materials they’ve sent me every time they’ve sent me something, and I want to know exactly what they’re sending. I’ll get it done. But you know what I want? I think the guys who are making these accusations ought to release their records also, and I’ve said that. And I think fair is fair. Let’s all put them out there for everybody to judge. IMUS: So will you not release yours... KERRY: No, I’ll sign it anyway. I’ll sign it anyway. IMUS: OK. Like by noon today? KERRY: Uh, no.
A discussion of Kerry's appearance on Meet the Press in January, referenced in one of Imus' questions above, can be found here. My guess is that the records will show that he was recommended for a less-than-honorable discharge in 1972 based on his Congressional testimony spreading false stories of atrocities and on his nigh on treasonous meetings with North Vietnamese representatives behind the scenes of the Paris Peace talks. Who knows? Although it is a fact that Kerry's honorable discharge dates to 1978, after Carter's amnesty proclamation; why not 1972, when his six-year Naval Reserve commitment ended?
Here's my idea. The Kennedy administration, fearful of alienating white Southern segregationist Democrats, was quite timid in putting the weight of Federal enforcement behind the civil rights movement. For example, Kennedy had given a campaign speech saying he could end discrimination in federal housing "with a stroke of the presidential pen," meaning via an executive order, but he reneged once in office. After he dragged his feet for two years on that pledge, civil rights activists starting sending pens to the White House. Kennedy eventually signed an executive order prohibiting discrimination in federal contracting.
Seems to me a similar campaign should be launched against this JFK. The Swiftvets for Truth and their supporters could start sending Kerry pens with which to sign the Form 180 release. Of course, a more opportune time for such a stunt would have been during the Presidential race rather than now, but it's only now that the mainstream media, Kerry's lapdogs when he was the Democratic candidate, have pushed Kerry into a statement that he'd sign the form.
Re: Form 180
Kerry is a coward and liar. Make it known to all. He lied about his service and honor thus disgracing the good americans that served this nation.
Cowards like Carter and Clinton had to be engaged to cover for his dishonesty.
He met with our enemy during his service as a naval officer. In my view that is reason for a court marshall and there is no time limit restrictions on that violation. Press him into signing the 180 form then confront the military courts with the evidence. Time to put an end to this egotistic fool and coward and make right a terrible wrong in history.

My prediction - Kerry will not run in 2008. There is a reason he has never filled out Form 180 (like Bush has) and keeps making excuses/delays for his failure to do so. There is something in those records that is very damaging. I think the Democrats will in one way shape or form tell Johnny Boy that he had his chance in 2004 (which he blew by the way)and that he has to sit out 2008. Personally, I hope he runs again as it virtually assures a GOP win.
